Nutrition
Our nutrition programme is a pilot programme in partnership with the Bloomsbury Surgery Group.
Our Nutrition Programme
Our programme is the first of its kind and is a part of their collective efforts to further engage and educate members of their communities on the importance of nutrition. They trained our health and wellbeing programme lead, Sonia, to be a well-equipped liaison between the various GP practices and members of the Somers Town community. Together, we have customized the referral system to make information and counsel on nutrition more accessible.

The Launch
Starting September 2023, STCA officially launched the nutritional counseling programme. People who have signed up are entitled to 4 meetings with a professional nutritionist over the course of 4 months. Anyone from the community is encouraged to apply, especially those with pre-existing health conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. They are also invited to a group exercise session that takes place every Monday.

Outcomes & Plans
The program was hugely popular. It was not only a success in terms of number of sign-ups to the 4-month programme, but it also became a channel by which more people were encouraged to register with a GP.
Our plan is to continue to find ways to grow our capacity to offer more people this service and give more days to fitness and exercise classes.
